Dennis Shine <br />After the issuance of the draft <br />EIS, the Gateway site alternative <br />(Alternative 3) was deemed <br />impractical and has been <br />eliminated from further <br />consideration. Alternative site 3 <br />was eliminated from further <br />consideration because it lies <br />within the 500-Year Floodplain <br />for the McKenzie River, has <br />inadequate public transportation, <br />and suffers from a significant <br />shortage of public parking. <br />15.1-The draft EIS assesses the <br />potential traffic impacts resulting <br />from developing the Gateway site <br />across from the Sony Disc <br />manufacturing facility. The <br />analysis determined that <br />developing the Gateway site <br />would not result in a significant <br />impact on traffic flow or traffic <br />safety.
