Louise Peterson <br />After the issuance of the draft <br />EIS, the Gateway site alternative <br />(Alternative 3) was deemed <br />impractical and has been <br />eliminated from further <br />consideration. Alternative site 3 <br />was eliminated from further <br />consideration because it lies <br />within the 500-Year Floodplain <br />for the McKenzie River, has <br />inadequate public transportation, <br />and suffers from a significant <br />shortage of public parking. <br />12.1-Although access to the <br />Gateway (Sony) site by <br />automobile may be convenient for <br />residents of the outlying area, the <br />site has a major parking <br />deficiency that would cause a <br />significant impact on traffic in the <br />area unless the GSA provides <br />additional parking spaces.
