<br />7.1-Comment acknowledged;
<br />developing the Riverfront site
<br />would result in increased activity
<br />in the area surrounding the site.

<br />7.3-The plants and animals
<br />section of the draft EIS addresses
<br />possible impacts on and around the
<br />Riverfront site. The analysis found
<br />that significant impacts on plant
<br />and animal species are not likely to
<br />be associated with construction or
<br />operation of the proposed project.
<br />The Riverfront site would require
<br />removal of existing buildings and
<br />landscape vegetation but would not
<br />require development of
<br />undisturbed land. The project
<br />would not affect wildlife habitat
<br />found in the nearby Riverfront
<br />Park.
<br />7.4-The traffic study did not find
<br />that developing the courthouse on
<br />the Riverfront site would cause a
<br />significant degradation of traffic
<br />flow in the vicinity. Locating the
<br />courthouse on the Riverfront site
<br />would physically separate the
<br />federal courts from the legal
<br />infrastructure that has developed in
<br />Eugene. While court-related
<br />services do not currently exist in
<br />the vicinity of the Riverfront site,
<br />these services are expected to develo
<br />if it is selected.
