IX. BRT UPDATE <br />Russell reported that after January 29 Lane Transit District will summarize testimony and respond <br />to Eugene Planning Commission questions. Russell distributed a memo from Tom Stinchfield <br />providing a status report. <br />Russell reported that the Lane County Planning Commission is meeting February 20 at 5:30 p.m. <br />to formulate a recommendation on the BRT and would like to meet jointly with the Roads <br />Advisory Committee. <br />Commissioner Morrison commented that if you don't have the information from the other <br />jurisdictions, is there a need to meet February 20. Russell replied that he will share that concern <br />with Tom Stinchfield. <br />X. TRANSPLAN STATUS REPORT <br />Commissioner Morrison stated that MPC did note to send a letter to Federal Highway <br />Administration on funding. She expressed concern that the letter was dated September 28 and <br />the MPC group did not receive it until late December. <br />Russell distributed a status report from Tom Stinchfield <br />A question was raised if Lane County can go to a vote countywide on the West Eugene Parkway. <br />Snowden questioned what weight the vote would carry; the project needs to be in TransPlan. <br />Russell reported that Springfield, Eugene. and LTD approved alternative performance measures. <br />MPC approved six outstanding issues and will discuss February 8 two unresolved issues. <br />Xt. BICYCLE SUBCOMMITTEE <br />Radabaugh distributed a memo and bibliography of events. He indicated that the subcommittee <br />doesn't feel a need to continue meeting; should deal with broader transportation issues. He feels <br />the subcommittee has done as much as can be done. <br />Motion: Poage moved to eliminate the Bicycle Subcommittee. Chamard seconded. All present <br />voted in favor and motion carried. <br />XII. OTHER BUSINESS <br />A. Ada Grange -Stapleton reported that he and Commissioner Morrison attended a meeting at <br />the Ada Grange recently to talk about Road Funds and how the County road system works. <br />Meeting adjourned at 7:30 p.m. <br />Vonnie Rainwater <br />Recording Secretary <br />Roads Advisory Committee -January 24, 2001 <br />Page 5 of 5 <br />
