transportation Placeholder
'reservation and Maintenance
Pavement Preservation Program -Funding for Project Backlog
Project Description: The City's backlog of pavement preservation projects has grown to the current level
of over $100 million. In the absence of action to identify and secure new additional street preservation
funding, it is projected that this backlog will continue to grow to nearly $180 million within the next decade.
Staff estimate that current dedicated funding sources for pavement preservation (i.e., local gas tax, county
OTIA III revenue sharing, reimbursement transportation SDCs) will generate $3 to $4.5 million in ongoing
annual revenue. In 2001, the Citizen Budget Subcommittee on Transportation Funding recommended a
target revenue level of $9 million in annual ongoing pavement preservation funding to not only stablize the
growth in the backlog but also to begin to make significant progress in reducing this substantial future
community liaiblity.
Project Status: Not Started In FY07-12 MYFP.
Specific Plans/Polices Related to this Project
Pavement Management Program
TransPlan
Capital Costs ~$ in thousands)
Fund 2008 2009 2010 2011 2012 2013 Total
Fees 1,400 1,400 1,400 1,400 1,400 1,400 $8,400
Transportation Utility 4,700 5,500 5,800 6,200 6,600 7,000 $35,800
Total $6,100 $6,900 $7,200 $7,600 $8,000 $8,400 $44,200
Neighborhood: Citywide
Ward: Multiple Wards
City of Eugene 2008-2013 Capital Improvement Program
221
Pavement Preservation
