trail where it is and improving drainage for a better running surface in winter
months.
^ Bigger.
^ Keep the play area restroom and overflow parking.
^ New trees, shade givers, clean up of riparian area. Any time there are new
plants involved I feel good. The canal is definitely in need. I'm excited for that
help to come.
^ Don't change the path through at 26tH. Dog park improvements, signal
pedestrian crossing at 26tH
^ Location of art bridge is great- honors new path off 26tH, view of Spencer's,
Skinner's, Coburg Hills, Pioneer Cemetery Hills, Celebrating greater park system
landscape. New dog park perimeter up on hill will be more interesting.
^ I think it balanced social needs well.
^ Add trail to Roosevelt and benches and picnic tables. The improved jogging trail,
fitness area and dogpark. Wading pool can be filled over, needn't be destroyed.
^ New sportsfields.
^ Very little. It seems that PROS is fighting the community, trying to shove their
agenda down our throat, making everything apay-for-play facility, whereas this is
our last green space.
^ Benches, more plantings.
Additional Comments:
^ For the past 2.5 years, I have worked with many members of the Eugene Parks
and Open Spaces division and they are some of the most knowledgeable and
.well qualified individuals I have had the pleasure to have worked with. When
working together on various projects and related issues, the POS staff have
.always been full of positive address and foresight for the projects that we might
be working on, and they always consider the community members that may use
said park projects or open spaces. My consultative work with POS has been well
met, utilized to a positive end for persons with disabilities, as well as the public in
general; I am proud to have played any small part in their activities.
^ Post a sign with a photo of the potential threatened plan in the Amazon Parke. It's
difficult to appreciate a plant when you don't know what it looks like.
^ Oregon Track Club Masters would like to see signage at both ends of the Adidas
Running Trail and the head of Rexius Trail. Showing a map of both trails,
distances of individual loops, and recognition of Rexius for their upkeep of the
Rexius Trail. We would consider a partnership with Eugene Parks Department in
funding 3 signs.
^ The pedestrian bridge is a great amenity. Thank you for taking care of the
essentials first such as restrooms, paths; overflow parking and still being able to
add $14,000 for natural resources.
^ Great evening for a park walk. Nice booths, good maps, great volunteers. I'm so
glad there are people thinking about our public parks and doing something about
it.
^ Thanks for your hard work. I am wondering which of the priority projects will
happen first.
^ The less the city does out there, the better. Focus on enhancing natural values,
not industrial sports complexes.
^ Thanks for explanatory program last Tuesday evening.
^ Can the city facilitate memorial/gift benches? For bench placement, the EWER
berm is an interesting opportunity to get people into the land- the vantage point
Amazon Park 7/26/2004
Workshop 3 Questionnaire Results Page 4
