4. Concept Design <br />As a result of months of research, observation, design work, and public input, a Concept <br />..Design was formulated. Anew pedestrian bridge over the creek and a new lighted crossing at 26th and <br />Hilyard are the cornerstones of these improvements. The proposed bridge design is a <br />1% for Art piece by local artist, Lee Imonen. The Zig Zag Bridge serves a functional <br />purpose of stream crossing while celebrating the beauty of the place with a meandering <br />form. Additionally, new pathways will facilitate east/west movement through the park <br />as well as establishing anorth/south link <br />~' ~ ~' ~ to the adjacent Roosevelt Middle School. <br />`~ u- ~ `~ Better pedestrian access across Amazon <br />_~ <br />7 ~, `~ ~ i <br />T ~ ~~`1 ~} ~ Parkway is also desired, and will continue. <br />_ ~ to be explored with City Transportation <br />>°' ~' . <br />'v' `" ~ Planning staff. Renovation of the dog park, Adidas Running Trail, fitness <br />course and children's play area are included.
