To our community and stakeholders:
For 28 years, the Metropolitan Wastewater Management Commission (MWMC) has been a successful model of
intergovernmental cooperation, continuously meeting the wastewater service needs of our growing community.
Through the resourceful initiative reflected in MWMC's 2004 Facilities Plan, we have laid the foundation for the
next 20 years of high quality wastewater management services that will protect the health and safety of our
community and the water quality of the Willamette River.
Amidst a confluence of new regulations, increased operational complexities, and increasing community demand for
system capacity, we are forging ahead to improve and expand the regional facilities as a foundation for the future of
our growing service area. As we begin the challenge of implementing the Facilities Plan we are reminded of our
commitments to careful planning to best serve our community and customers, maintain high environmental
standards, and provide responsible fiscal and asset management. In addition to launching the first phase of
MWMC's Facilities Plan capital improvement projects, the Commission's 2005 accomplishments included review
and refinement of our financial policies and organizational structure. The resulting enhancements to our organiza-
tional staffing and financing tools make MWMC well-prepared to establish high quality, affordable wastewater
services for the next twenty years.
In the years ahead, we will continue to conduct ourselves in accordance with our guiding principle - a Regional
Wastewater Program built on successful intergovernmental partnerships dedicated to improving and protecting the
quality of life in the Eugene-Springfield metropolitan area.
Sincerely,
ill Inge, 20 President
Metropolitan astewater Management Commission
L `
,~ .~
.~ j
:,'~~
f
From top left: Faye Stetivart, Lane County Commissioner Doug Keeler,
City ofSprin~eld Citizen Representative
Middle.Row: George Poling, City of Eugene Council Representative,
Walt Meyer, MWMCVice-President/ City of Eugene Citizen Represen-
tati ve
Bottom Row: Hilary Loud, City of Eugene Citizen Representative, Bill
Inge, MWMC President/ Lane County Citizen Representative,Anne
Ba]lecv, City of Springfield Council Representative
~pccial tha~~ks to for~~lcr MWMC: C;c.>~n}nissicn~er Deborah Evaias for a~7ilestoncs accozall~lislaccl iri ~~V~
