Community Celebrations of 100 Years of Parks and Hendricks Park Centennial <br />As 2006 was the year for 100 Years of Parks and the Hendricks Centennial, this action plan item is <br />completed. However, a variety ofpark-related community celebrations will continue on an ongoing <br />basis. The 2°d Annual Parks Community Hero Awards Dinner took place again in March 2007 and <br />the popular new Eugene Children's Nature Film Festival will return in April 2007. <br />Community Celebration of the Hult Center's 25`'` Anniversary in 2007 <br />Planning continues for Hult 25. The official kick-off for celebrating the Hult Center's 25~' <br />anniversary is Sunday, May 27, 2007, when the masterful Philade phia Orchestra will perform in Silva <br />Concert Hall. <br />The official birthday weekend is scheduled for September 28 and 29. On September 28, a <br />celebratory dinner will be held at the Eugene Hilton followed by AnotherEvetting ofMemorles, <br />an exclusive Hult Center Resident Company performance featuring Ed Ragozzino as Master of <br />Ceremonies. Entrance to the performance and Community Open House the following day, <br />Saturday, September 29, will be free. <br />Cuthbert Amphitheater <br />In March, Kesey Enterprises and Double Tee, the two vendors operating the Cuthbert <br />Amphitheater, indicated the entertainment line-up for 2007 will be even better than the 2006 season. <br />The University of Oregon's Willamette Valley Folk Festival will again open the outdoor season at <br />the venue on May 19-20. Performers confirmed to-date for the rest of the season include: <br />May 26 Michael Franti and Spearhead with Blackalicious and Reeble Jar <br />July 6 Willie Nelson <br />August 8 Diana Krall with Chris Botti <br />August 10 G Love & Special Sauce with Ozomatli <br />August 14 Los Lonely Boys, Jonny Lang <br />August 18 Floydian Slips <br />August 24 Gordon Lightfoot <br />CHALLENGES <br />A key challenge is to coordinate a diverse group of stakeholders and gain consensus and shared <br />commitment. Clarifying the appropriate role and responsibilities for the City of Eugene <br />organization in relation to the other stakeholders will be an important aspect of that process, <br />including determining how to share the responsibility for implementation while coordinating actions <br />for the most effective results. A significant challenge will be to identify adequate resources and share <br />responsibility for implementing the marketing plan. <br />INTERMEDIATE MEASURES <br />• Number of partners and stakeholders contacted to participate in marketing plan <br />0 150 stakeholder meeting invitations mailed.
