So, again, our interest is primarily in the safety of kids, and we know that if we had sidewalks along both of those sides of Third Street, we'd obviously have a better opportunity to protect them from any type of accident. • Tom Isaacson, Mayor of Haines - On top of that, we have the Eastern Oregon Museum is on Third Street. It's one of our main arterials other than our Main Street, which is the old Highway 30, and we just hope to see some improvement along that site. Thank you. ONTARIO, November 2, 2006 6 attendees General Comments: Ken Freese, Malheur County Roadmaster - I would echo Judge Grasty's comments about thanking ODOT for some of the OTIA funds and some of the improvements to our county bridges that have come through that funding source. I would also hope that at some point we could include the roads along with the bridges because we are finding we have some very nice bridges on some not-nice roads. So if you could just add a few more dollars and pave a little further along the approaches, it would help. General Comments: • Robert Waltenburg, Mayor, City of Dayville - "The intersection of Hwy 19 and Hwy 26 is in a fairly tight corner. There is no sign indicating this when approaching the corner from the west. I have seen many wrecks at this intersection in my 16 yrs as an EMT in Dayville. Please mark this corner better. I do appreciate the redesign of the intersection itself, however. It keeps people from blowing the stop sign. Please feel free to contact me about this situa- tion." • Jerry Franklin, Grant County Chamber of Commerce - On behalf of the Chamber of Com- merce, Ihave volunteered to come here this evening in support of the City of John Day Main Street Enhancement project.
