As a regular user of the trail (multiple times a week), I feel the closing of the Sellwood gap would promote greater use of the trail because it will be easier to navigate and far safer than the present multiple street crossings. This would be especially true for families with young children. Also to leave the trail unfmished would be failure of the cities to finish what it starts, and in the process leave alot of folks wondering why. • W. I took my grand kids on bikes (ages 5 & 8) and their mother to Saturday Market for lunch. I would not take them on any road that had cars. They road 11 miles, the farthest they have ever ridden at one time. If that part was finished, we would have started sooner. I use the trail Milwaukie to Portland once a week to go to Hillsboro by train. • Larry D. At least once a week (more often in the summer) I bicycle from my home in Milwaukie to downtown Portland. Now that the 3 Bridges project is complete, I no longer have to bicycle down Johnson Creek Blvd and Tacoma Street with all their traffic. It would be much safer to connect the 3 Bridges and the Springwater Corri- dor trails with a new trail SEPARATE from auto traffic.
