FINAL 2008-2011 STATEWIDE TRANSPORTATION IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM <br />way Safety Plan. The TSAP is the long- <br />range plan; the Performance Plan includes a <br />listing of safety projects developed by the <br />Highway Safety Engineering Committee to <br />implement the Highway Safety Improve- <br />ment Program (HSIP). These investments <br />are smaller projects identified and adjusted <br />annually based on crash analysis, and are <br />funded from the HSIP funding category. <br />For more information about the Transporta- <br />tion Safety Program, ca11503-986-4188, or <br />go online: <br />http://www.oregon. Gov/ODOT/TS/ <br />Safe Routes to School Program <br />The Safe Routes to School Program is <br />statewide in scope, and addresses the safety <br />and access needs of children and young <br />adults traveling to and from school. The <br />program is established under authority of <br />SAFETEA-LU and funds grants and awards <br />to allow projects and activities in the follow- <br />ing topical areas: <br />• Education <br />• Engineering <br />• Enforcement <br />• Encouragement <br />• Evaluation <br />Program activities are divided into to gen- <br />eral groups: infrastructure improvement and <br />non-infrastructure projects.
