Recent planning studies indicate that streetscape improvements are needed for economic development. Sidewalks,
bkelanes, signals, utility placements and lighting are substandard.
Relation to Plans:
TransPlan future project list for urban standards and intersection improvements. Council priority.
Maintenance Impacts:
This is an ODOT Highway and therefore, if the road stays in State ownership, the impact of improvement on City maintenance could be minimal. If the State
does not take responsibility for street amenities outside the curbs, as is sometimes the case, then improvements to landscaping, sidewalks, etc. may need to
be maintained by the City. In any case, this proposed funding is only for planning and has no direct maintenance impact. Maintenance considerations need
to be included in the planning process.
Page 1- 4
