1 <br />LIBRARY, RECREATION & CULTURAL SERVICES <br />LIABILITY CLAIMS <br />In FY07, four liability claims were filed against Library, Recreation & <br />Cultural Services (ERGS) with a total incurred of only $891. This is <br />below the five year average frequency of six claims and well below the <br />average severity of $3,345. FY07 was an outstanding year with the <br />lowest total incurred cost for the department since FY03. Only one of <br />the four claims was the result of a motor vehicle accident (backing) <br />with a payment of $51 for minor property damage. Congratulations to <br />LRCS for your success in reducing motor vehicle related claims. The <br />three remaining claims were related to injuries to patrons. Two were <br />closed without payment (trip and fall at the Hult Center and participant <br />injured in a sailing class). One payment of $840 was paid to cover the uninsured medical expenses of a child <br />who fell on the diving board at the Amazon Pool.
