This included species listed
as threatened or endangered and those with other statuses such as species of concern, candidate, or
vulnerable. An initial list was created by selecting species that were both within Lane County and the
Willamette Valley ecoregion. This list was refined using species distribution maps in Atlas of
Oregon Wildlife (Csuti et al. 1997) and interviews with local experts.
A master table of species of interest {i.e. those with a list status) within the City lists their federal
and/or state status, likelihood of presence within each of the City's drainage areas, life stage season
(for fish only), and habitat. Habitat requirements and seasonal presence for each species came from
information in Atlas of Oregon Wildlife (Csuti et al. 1997), Wetland Plants of Oregon and
Washington (Guard 1995) and interviews with local experts. Local experts provided information on
1
8
PRELIMINARY REVIEW DRAFT {1/23/2001). MAY CONTAIN INACCURACIES. D0 NOT CITE.
