OR 126W FLORENCE-EUGENE HIGHWAY CONDITIONS REPORT - 2001 <br />Narrow shoulders limit the ability of a driver to avoid a collision, <br />increase the likelihood that a vehicle may leave the paved roadway, <br />and create vehicle/bicycle and vehicle/pedestrian conflicts. Narrow <br />shoulders are also present on 10 of the corridors bridges and in the <br />Peterson (Knowles Creek) Tunnel. EXECUTIVE SUMMARY <br />USER'S GUIDE <br />There were no top 10% Safety Priority Index System (SPIS) sites on the <br />Florence-Eugene Highway. Thirty locations were identified with three or APPENDICES <br />more crashes in the last three years, or at least one crash in the last five O <br />years that involved a fatality. Twenty of the crash locations coincide with PAGE <br />geometrically deficient highway segments and six correspond to O <br />intersections.
