OR 126W FLORENCE-EUGENE HIGHWAY CONDITIONS REPORT - 2001
Today, with many more users and few significant upgrades since its
initial consturction, 126W has become congested at its more urban
eastern end. In rural areas, increased truck and other traffic also
consumes available capacity at many locations. Auto-oriented
development near the east end of the corridor often impacts access
and intersection operations and, at times, the highway's mainline
operations. Commute trips between Veneta and Eugene have grown
significantly and utilize much of the capacity between those two citys.
In some short stretches, 126W also serves as an alternate local street
for a high percentages of local trips, rather than the long-distance trips
for which it is primarily intended.
9 O gg 1W69105
101 5
36) 229 Elmira
Mapleton 126
~ ~ Veneta
1126 Eugene
~ Florence Florence -Eugene Hwy.
