To avoid noise disturbances, normal working times for work performed under a permit shall be <br />restricted to the hours between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. unless otherwise specifically authorized by <br />permit, license, or variance. EC 4.083(g), 4.084 <br />3.F MAINTENANCE OF ROADWAY DRAINAGE <br />A permittee shall maintain all gutters, ditches, and other drainage features unobstructed and free of <br />sediment, dirt, and debris. For curb and guttered streets the gutters shall remain unobstructed for <br />the full depth of the adjacent curb and for a width of at least. one foot in width from the face of the <br />curb at the gutter line. Whenever a valley gutter crosses an intersecting street, an adequate waterway <br />shall be provided and at all times maintained. EC 7.307 (3) <br />3.G TEMPORARY PATCHING AND PERMANENT RESTORATION <br />The permittee shall not open more than 400 linear feet of trench without backfilling the trench the <br />same working day. The permittee shall be required to backfill and patch temporarily with asphalt <br />concrete material any excavation in a vehicle traffic lane, bike lane, sidewalk, or on a bike path the <br />same day of excavation and shall maintain the temporary patch until the final surface repair is placed. <br />Temporary trench repair shall be maintained sufficiently to prevent settlement or an irregular surface. <br />`''Where it is impracticable to backfill and complete temporary surface restoration the same day. of <br />trench opening, the permittee may seek prior written approval of the Inspector to leave a trench open <br />overnight. With prior written approval the permittee may leave a maximum of 4001inear feet of <br />trench open overnight, provided the permittee establishes and maintains barriers and warning devices <br />to protect open trench zones. <br />As soon as practicable, but in no case greater than 60 days after completion of the permit work and <br />at permittee's expense, permanent pavement replacement within the public way shall be completed <br />in accordance with City Standards by a qualified contractor or by the permittee if the Inspector agrees <br />the permittee has the required resources and trained personnel. If the permittee fails to make the <br />permanent pavement repair within the time specified, the City may make the repair and charge the <br />cost thereof to the permittee without prior notification. EC 7.307 (1) <br />NOTE⢠The permittee is responsible for insuring that the Inspector is notified one business <br />day in advance of the time the permanent repairs are to be made. <br />The Inspector shall maintain a file containing the location of and the permittee responsible for all <br />temporary pavement patches.
