Based on our evaluation, we propose to corl~plete shallow gores and FIND testing or1 each road to <br /> evacuate the existing pavement canditiorls, Our specific scope of services will irtclude the <br /> fallowing: <br /> • Complete a distress survey of the existing pavement, incfiuding observing tine extent of <br /> fatigue and surface distress in areas that may require patching repair. <br /> • Provide trai'fc contr?l and traffic control plans tflraugh our subcontractor. Vie anticipate that <br /> permiitting requirements and fees will be Handled by City personnel. <br /> • F~cplare subsurface conditions in the proposed sectior?s by completing core borings to depths <br /> of up to 5 feet below ground surface. INe estimate the fallowing core borings per road <br /> section: <br /> ~ Harlow Raadi 12 care borings <br /> • River Road; core borings <br /> • Augusta street: l core borings <br /> • Main[a~n a detailed lag of the explorations. Obtain samples of the pavement, base, arld <br /> sl~bgrade materials encountered. <br /> • Complete laboratory tests, Including moisture cant~nt, sieve analysis, and Atterberg limits. <br /> ~'he number and type of tests at each location will depend an the subgrade material <br /> observed. <br /> + Conduct FVI+D testing at ~ U4- to 154-fast intervals in the outside wheel path of the travel <br /> lanes In both dir~ctians to evaluate the structural condition of the existing'pavement and <br /> subgrade modulus. We estimate the following FVI~ tests per r'aad section: <br /> • Marlow Rand: 1 l~ tests <br /> • River Read; ~~0 tests <br /> AUguSta street: 84 tests <br /> • Analy the FIND data to back calculate the in•situ resilient modulus of the subgrade soils <br /> and the effective structural number otthe existing pavement structure. <br /> • Estimate the traffic loading by calculating F.SA~s based on traffic data provided by the City. <br /> • Evaluate rehabilitation and reconstruction pptians based an FWD testing, subgrade <br /> conditions, sail borings, and traffic data. <br /> Provide recommendations for full depth re~lamatian, w4~ere applica~bl'e, <br /> • Provide a report summarl~ing our re'commendatrons for cacti road section. <br /> SCHEDUt,E AND FEF <br /> <br /> We are prepared to begin the preparations for fieldwork upon yourwritten authorlratian to <br /> proceed. INe will provide a verbal summary ofaul• findings as tale information becomes available, <br /> INe understand that the City is requesting that reports be delivered by the end of April X049. <br /> For the scope of services described, u~ will complete our work on a time-and-expense basis far a <br /> nat•ta•exce~d fee of ~4~,53~ in accardante with aUr current Rersonal Services Contract (Contract <br /> No. X049-44z 1 o with the City of Eugene. Please note that the a~ba+re fee is based on performing <br /> testing while m~nlmizing travel between Eugene and Portland, with Geal)esign personnel staying <br /> in the Eugene area when passible.
