SPECIFICATIONS <br /> Request For Quotation 2006200043 <br /> Scope of Project <br /> The scope of this project consists of planting trees provided by the City at <br /> projects located throughout the city. The trees to be planted will be 1.25 to 2.5 <br /> inches in caliper but predominately 1.25 to 1.75 inches. The trees may be bare <br /> root, balled and burlapped, or containerized. The City will be attempting to <br /> provide a majority of the trees as containerized stock. Trees will be picked up by <br /> the contractor from the City's Public Works Maintenance Facility, located at 1820 <br /> Roosevelt Blvd. All planting locations will be identified on project descriptions <br /> and in the field by the Urban Forestry Office. Work will be grouped by individual <br /> <br /> I': projects and payment made upon successful completion of each project. The <br /> contract for work will be awarded to the lowest qualified bidder as the Primary <br /> <br /> j provider. Work orders for projects will be given to the Primary provider first, but if <br /> the Primary provider is busy and can't meet our timeline for projects (section <br /> 1.3.6), additional projects may be given to the Secondary provider. Planting will <br /> be according to the following specifications: <br /> 1. Landscape Contractor Standards <br /> 1.1 Contractor Qualifications <br /> Contractor must have a valid Oregon Landscape Contractor's license for this <br /> type of installation and a valid Oregon Landscape Business License. <br /> 1.2 Warranty <br /> Contractor shall warranty trees and staking for a period of 45 days from date of <br /> acceptance by the City against loss due to improper transportation, planting, or <br /> maintenance as defined in these specifications. Contractor is not responsible for <br /> loss due to vandalism, accident, adverse weather, or the condition of the trees <br /> provided by the City. <br /> 1.3 Requirements <br /> 1.3.1 All applicable American National Standards Institute (ANSI) regulations and <br /> Occupational Safety and Health Administration regulations shall be strictly <br /> adhered to. <br /> 1.3.2 Traffic safety in the work zone will be the responsibility of the contractor. <br /> 1.3.3 The immediate work area shall be coned and all applicable traffic safety <br /> signs/devices necessary according to ODOT traffic control guidelines and <br /> policies shall be in place. <br /> 1.3.4 Contractor shall call "Utility Locate", 1-800-332-2344, and verify the location of <br /> any underground utilities prior to beginning work and maintain marks throughout <br /> ` construction. <br /> 2006200043 Page 2 <br /> v_~, <br /> <br />
