The
Performance and Development Manager works with the Human Resources Advisory Board to review the
curriculum and establish mandatory training requirements for all employees and supervisors/managers
aligned to the current priorities of the organization. This board is made up of representatives from all
departments. Public Works currently has three .manager representatives on the board.
Other methods for establishing training goals are through meetings directly with the departments.
In 2001, the Performance and Development Manager met with the Public Works management team to
assist in prioritizing supervisor and manager training priorities based on supervisor competencies. This
department feedback created the priority list for training to be offered or developed in the following year.
©2004 American Public Works Association Version 5.0
33
