It is <br /> the responsibility of all employees and agents of the City to treat each other with courtesy, consideration <br /> and respect and to create and maintain a work environment free from illegal harassment or discrimination <br /> based on any protected status. With this policy the City prohibits not only unlawful harassment or <br /> .discrimination, but also unprofessional and discourteous actions. Accordingly, derogatory racial, ethnic, <br /> religious, age, render, sexual orientation, sexual, or other inappropriate remarks, slurs or jokes will not be <br /> tolerated. The respectful work environment notice is posted in numerous work locations, including <br /> reception areas, elevators and. common areas such as lunch rooms and copy rooms. <br /> The policy warns that any employee who engages in objectionable conduct is subject to discipline up to and <br /> including termination.
