RECOGNITION AND CONNECTION
Recommendations
j The following recommendations on City-wide recognition and City-wide connection are based
on the discussions and input from the last Joint Exec/Division Manager meeting in early June
and follow-up discussions by the DMPG.
'I
~ The DMPG had a lengthy discussion about the organizational environment as a backdrop to
recognition and connection strategies. We believe that althor:gh these strategics require funding
~ and staff time, they represent prudent expenditures even in o u r c urrentl y constrained financial
environment. We believe that actively working to maintain connection and prop ide recognition
~ on a City-wide basis enhances employee morale, gives cn~plo~res ch~t~ice to identi I~r ~~ith the
City organization as a whole, and improves cross-organiz~~tional performance. In short. ~~c
believe these strategies make good business sense for a~~i organization, public or prig=ate.
City-Wide Reco ign tion:
i
1.
