The <br /> goal is that these are generic enough to apply to supervisors throughout the organization. <br /> <br /> i <br /> 1. Vision and Recognizes the value of and communicates a future picture which aligns <br /> <br /> ~ Planning- with the City goals, the work of the team and that of individuals. Has the <br /> ability to lead the transformation of this compelling vision into daily work <br /> and the work of their team. Vision drives decision making and direction <br /> for team activities. <br /> Kev behaviors <br /> • Has clear and compelling vision which aligns with citizens, City <br /> organization and work unit goals for themselves and their team. <br /> • Develops and communicates clear goals to support the vision. <br /> • Demonstrates the ability to lead. The team is engaged and <br /> supported the vision. <br /> • In coordination with work team, creates plans which guide work in <br /> line with the vision. <br /> Plans include forecasting of: <br /> • Work plan direction <br /> • Staff development <br /> • Succession plans <br /> • Determines, matches, and assigns resources to plans. <br /> • Articulates and advocates plans and vision to management. <br /> 2. Ethics Knows the ethical practices governing their position as a manager and <br /> the City system they support. Demonstrates integrity and accountability <br /> in decision making, management practices, and personal work. Serves as <br /> role model for employees. <br /> Key behaviors <br /> • Displays honesty and trustworthiness. <br /> • Always acts professionally and respectfully. <br /> • Holds self and employees accountable. <br /> • Actions are consistent with statements. Follows through on <br /> responsibilities and commitments. <br /> • Recognizes necessity to "do the right thing", even when it maybe <br /> difficult, uncomfortable or unrecognized. <br /> <br />
