I <br /> Supervisor/Manager Leadership Project Outline <br /> i <br /> Introduction Based on feedback from advisory groups, Helen, Lauren, Dennis, <br /> Roland, Denise and other data gathered, attached is a draft project <br /> outline for supervisor and manager development for FY04 and into <br /> FY05 <br /> Outline There are three stages proposed in the development continuum. <br /> { There are also some supplemental activities that are being proposed. <br /> Stage 1-Focus is on baseline supervisor education. This will involve <br /> technical knowledge (Administrative competency) and also basic soft <br /> skills development. This will be a required curriculum for all new <br /> supervisors and others who have identified needs. <br /> Activities will address the following supervisor competencies: <br /> I communications; team leadership; performance management/staff <br /> development; self development; diverse perspectives; ethics. <br /> i <br /> Stage 2-Focus will be on optional classes. Target audience is <br /> supervisors and managers who have some experience but want to <br /> ~ strengthen their skills. This will be a limited academy format. <br /> j <br /> Supervisor competencies to be stressed in this curriculum will be <br /> vision/planning; decision making; self development; communication; <br /> <br /> ~ . team leadership; performance management/staffdeuelopment; <br /> diverse perspectives and ethics. <br /> <br /> f <br /> Stage 3-Focus will be on a long term (~8 month) curriculum.
