City of Eugene <br /> Human Resource and Risk Services Policies <br /> 3-900:. DISCIPLINE AND GRIEVANCES <br /> 3-910 GENERAL CAUSES FOR DISCIPLINARY ACTION <br /> The following activities or behaviors, while not all inclusive, are general causes <br /> for disciplinary action: <br /> a) Insubordination, inefficiency, incompetence, or performance of less <br /> <br /> ~ than required duties. <br /> b) Using intoxicants on the job or reporting for work under the <br /> influence of intoxicants. <br /> c) Habitual or excessive absence or tardiness, or abuse of sick leave <br /> privileges. <br /> d) Absence from duty without authorization or failure to notify a <br /> supervisor when an employee is unable to come to work or to <br /> report on time. <br /> e) Conviction of a felony or misdemeanor when the conviction would <br /> impair an employee's. effectiveness as a City employee. <br /> f) Willful or careless violation of safety rules or policies. <br /> g) Offensive conduct toward the public or fellow employees, or other <br /> conduct unbecoming to a City employee,. <br /> h) Willful violation of the provisions of the City Charter, ordinances, or <br /> other City rules or regulations, or failure to follow a lawful <br /> supervisory directive. <br /> i) Willful disobedience or failure to follow a lawful supervisory <br /> directive. <br /> j) Misuse of City Property <br /> k) Dishonesty <br /> I) Fraud in securing employment with the City. <br /> m) Failure or refusal to cooperate in an internal investigation. <br /> n) Interfering with an internal investigation. <br /> Human Resource and Risk Services <br /> Revised: 04/01 /96 <br /> <br />
