City of Eugene <br /> Human Resource and Risk Services Policies <br /> 7-300 EMPLOYEE SAFETY <br /> 7-310 Accident Prevention Policy <br /> City of Eugene employees have the right to expect a safe place in which to work, <br /> and proper tools and equipment with which to do their jobs. <br /> The City is committed to providing a safe work place, safe equipment, proper <br /> materials, and to establish and insist upon safe methods and practices at all <br /> times. No employee or supervisor may ever be relieved of any part of <br /> responsibility for accident prevention. <br /> 1t is a basic responsibility of management to make the safety of human beings a <br /> <br /> j part of its daily concern.. This responsibility must also be accepted by every <br /> employee of the City. <br /> 7-320 City of Eugene Safety Program (Revised o4 01 03) <br /> A. Policy Statement: <br /> The City of Eugene is dedicated to the establishment and maintenance of <br /> a work environment that has minimum potential of endangering human life <br /> or good health. This can only be accomplished if there is a good, ongoing <br /> safety program and full cooperation of both management and employees. <br /> Management is responsible for making every effort to maintain a work <br /> environment that is in compliance with State and Federal safety laws. <br /> Employees are responsible for using safety methods, practices, and <br /> equipment relative to the job being performed. Employees are also <br /> responsible for reporting accidents, faulty equipment, unsafe practices of <br /> fellow employees, and/or unsafe conditions of work areas to their <br /> supervisors. <br /> B. Organizational Structure <br /> 1. City Manager and Executive Managers <br /> a. Include safety performance as a factor in performance reviews, <br /> including division managers. <br /> b.
