Helen prepared background information for each policy exception & asked that <br /> everyone review and comment <br /> ? Discussion centered on wording in the background document and whether the <br /> exceptions should be included in the actual policy (APPM & Supervisor's Guide) <br /> Helen asked that detailed discussion be held for a larger discussion about the <br /> APPM and Supervisor's Guide <br /> ? Helen asked the board to review the document that she will send on-line and send <br /> suggested edits back to her <br /> ? The Board will further review wording of Policy Exceptions at the 4/8 meeting <br /> ? The Board will also do a group check on the cope (helpfulness vs. hindrance) of <br /> policy exceptions at the 4/8 meeting <br /> • General Information -Helen Towle <br /> ? Vacation donation on the bargaining table with AFSCME <br /> ? The City has three policies that deal with three different levels of illness - FMLA, <br /> vacation donation and sick leave. There is also different language concerning the <br /> degree of illness. <br /> • Coordinated Training Program Curriculum -Denise Smith <br /> ? Denise provided a document detailing current required training courses as well as <br /> optional courses for City employees. <br /> ? CTP classes are offered to the general city employee population. Denise also <br /> works with Departments to provide in-house courses specific to needs and <br /> schedules. <br /> ? Required courses are: Power of Words (communication class), Respectful Work <br /> environment, Workplace Harassment for Supervisors Non-supervisors), <br /> HazMat training, Workplace Violence for Non-supervisors Supervisors) and <br /> Alcohol & Substance Abuse for Supervisors <br /> ?
