Workers' Compensation <br />Eligibility <br />In the event of an on-the job injury, all City of Eugene employees are provided benefits in <br />accordance with Oregon Workers' Compensation Law. <br />Benefits <br />Benefits may include medical, temporary disability, and permanent disability benefits. In some <br />cases, an injured employee may also be entitled to vocational benefits and reinstatement rights. <br />Claims <br />HRRS administers the City's Workers' Compensation benefits. Upon receipt of your claim, HRRS <br />will evaluate and make a decision on disposition of your claim as required by law. The City's <br />Workers' Compensation program emphasizes physical rehabilitation and continued employment <br />during recovery. See the HRRS Intranet site <br />(http://ceonline/HRRS/RISK/WorkComp/WorkComp.htm) for more information. <br />Comprehensive Health Promotion Program <br />The Comprehensive Health Promotion Program encompasses a variety of voluntary health and <br />fitness programs. These programs include: <br />• Individualized Counseling <br />• Health and Wellness Education <br />• Health Risk Appraisals <br />• Rehabilitation of Injuries <br />The City of Eugene also has exercise facilities which contain up-to-date aerobic and weight training <br />fitness equipment. For more information about the program, see the HRRS Intranet site <br />(http://ceonline/HRRS/RISK/healthandfitne/HlthFitProg.htm) or contact the Health and Fitness <br />Director in HRRS. <br />Employee Assistance Program <br />The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is a confidential counseling service available free of <br />charge to all regular employees and their dependents. EAP services include assessment, short- <br />term counseling and referral. The records maintained by the EAP are strictly confidential and may <br />not be obtained by the City unless required to do so by valid court order. Employee participation in <br />the EAP is entirely voluntary. See the HRRS Intranet site on EAP <br />http://ceonline/HRRS/RISK/Benefits/EAP.htm) for more information, or contact HRRS for an EAP <br />brochure. <br />Oregon Public Service Retirement Plan (OPSRP) and Public Employees Retirement <br />System (PERS) <br />Regular employees will be enrolled in one of the retirement programs administered by the <br />Oregon Public Employees Retirement System (PERS): <br />• The Oregon Public Service Retirement Plan (OPSRP -Created by the 72"d Oregon <br />Legislature); or <br />• Tier One or Tier Two PERS program <br />Page 25-February 2004 <br />
