MAINTENANCE WORKER 1 City of Eugene <br /> #5005, Range 14-0 Revised 3/02 <br /> EEO Cat: 8, FLSA: Non-Exempt Page 2 <br /> <br /> j Provides assistance and direction to other members of a maintenance crew when assigned <br /> lead duties. <br /> i <br /> Performs other related duties as assigned. <br /> i <br /> QUALIFICATIONS <br /> Knowledge of: <br /> Types and uses of tools and light equipment used in maintenance, repair, and/or <br /> construction work. <br /> Standard safety precautions and ability to identify hazards. <br /> Ability to: <br /> Operate trucks and light construction equipment. <br /> Perform manual construction and facilities maintenance duties in area of assignment. <br /> Follow oral and written instructions and to keep accurate work records. <br /> Perform strenuous physical work outdoors in varying weather conditions. <br /> Provide and wear personal protective equipment as required. <br /> Be available and respond for emergency call-back as necessary. <br /> Experience and Training Guidelines Any equivalent combination of education and <br /> experience which provides the applicant with the knowledge, skills and abilities required <br /> to perform the job. Atypical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be: <br /> Experience: <br /> One year of experience in public works maintenance, construction or repair. <br /> License or Certificate <br /> Valid Oregon State Class A commercial driver's license or ability to obtain within <br /> probationary period. <br /> Flagger certification. <br /> <br />
