Oral presentations. Oral presentations may be given to the City or BLM managers, <br /> to professional organizations at local, regional, or national conferences, or to <br /> community groups. <br /> 5. Memos with supporting documentation. Memos may be written to City managers, <br /> BLM managers, or other City or partner staff with a summary of the analysis and a <br /> recommendation for action. <br /> 6. Work program adjustments to the work program of the Field Operations Group. <br /> c. If applicable, describe the research methods and analytical tools (i.e., resources, computer <br /> systems) you use to pen`orm your job and how you use them. <br /> The Wetlands Program Supervisor uses a variety of research methods and analytical tools, <br /> including: <br /> 1. Budget tracking software. <br /> 2. Spreadsheet software, including the statistical and graphing functions of Microsoft <br /> Excel. <br /> 3. Spatial analysis software (ARC/INFO and ArcView). <br /> 4. Convening and facilitating meetings of appropriate interagency staff teams to identify <br /> solutions to existing challenges. <br /> 5. Reading peer-reviewed scientific literature for the latest research on wetland <br /> restoration techniques and wetland functions. <br /> 6. Reading literature on germane environmental laws and policies that may affect the <br /> Wetlands Program. <br /> 7. Microsoft PowerPoint for preparing oral presentations. <br /> 8. Microsoft Word for word processing. <br /> 9. Microsoft Front Page for web document production. <br /> 5. Recommendations and Decision Making: <br /> a. Describe your role in making recommendations and decisions. Give examples and specify <br /> what is decided independently and what is part of a group decision. <br /> The Wetlands Program Supervisor has a key role in developing recommendations for the City's <br /> Wetlands Program, as well as for many elements of the West Eugene Wetlands Partnership. <br /> Because of the collaborative nature of the Partnership, many recommendations need to be <br /> approved by several organizations, particularly the BLM and The Nature Conservancy.
