- vS ~1 ~ p( <br /> Appreciation Survey <br /> Revised 1/22104 <br /> 1. Do you feel appreciated for the work you do. <br /> Employees generally feel appreciated for the work they do. Responses ranged from over three <br /> quarters feeling appreciated by their supervisors to a little of over half feeling appreciated by the <br /> management team. <br /> 2 / 3. If there were times you didn't feel appreciated, what were some of the reasons? <br /> Generally employees did feel appreciated. However in those cases where they did not feel <br /> appreciated the two major reasons cited were: <br /> 1. lack of feedback, and <br /> 2. working in an atmosphere of control vs. communication. <br /> 4 / 5. Is lack of communication a reason you don't feel appreciated. <br /> Employees do not believe lack of communication is a significant reason in the lack of feeling <br /> appreciated. However, people indicated a need for more open and honest communication from <br /> Section Managers and Division Managers. <br /> 6 / 7. What do you think might be a reason for lack of communication by your supervisor. <br /> Generally employees didn't feel lack of communication to be a significant issue. However, in <br /> those cases where they felt communication was a problem, the two major issues were time <br /> constraints on the part of the supervisor and the supervisor perceiving their role as being "in <br /> charge" <br /> 8. What would it take for you to feel appreciated. <br /> Generally most employees do feel appreciated. The three major themes from the survey were <br /> <br /> ' that: <br /> 1. People want clear direction on what they are being ask to do. • <br /> in decisions that affect their work <br /> 2. People want to be involved <br /> 3. People want to have their efforts acknowledged <br /> 9 / 10: ~Ilow would you prefer to be acknowledged for a job well done? <br /> Over three quarters of the people responded that a verbal "good job" is what they wanted. About. <br /> half wanted it acknowledged in a positive evaluation and about 40% referenced a-mail words of <br /> encouragement. <br /> -1- <br /> <br />
