i
i
~ Mentorship Committee
The Mentorship committee held a meeting to recruit new members. The mentorship
committee, current mentors and people interested in becoming a mentor were present. A
brief overview was given about the program and current members spoke about their
experiences. Out at the Roosevelt yard a new employee will have a mentor from a
different work group. New applications were submitted and have to be reviewed by
management.
i
Not much is happening with the mentorship program in Engineering.
I
i
Diversity Advisory Council (DAC) Report
The Diversity committee needs to change their work plan to reflect the same months
as the DAC work plan. The Diversity Committee has been doing their work plan by each

1, year and the DAC uses the Fiscal Year from July-June. The Diversity committee will
catch up by putting 18 months on their next report.
The DAC is working on getting Speakers for Septembers Diversity Month. Carla Gary
will be a return speaker.
The Roosevelt Yard has finished with their work place assessment. They are going to
do the assessment city wide.
i
We have a successful Diversity Committee but the Fire department has trouble
keeping members. The Police Department doesn't have an active committee. They do
have special trainings that they attend. They may have problems with varying work
schedules.
Info Share

j Lori Davis reported that the Respectful Workplace Steering Committee continues to meet
every other week. The respectful Workplace Steering Committee is looking for new

~I members to replace members who are leaving the committee. They still need to get a
person from Fleet and from Traffic.
Marilyn Mays has passed on the information that she needs to have more people to
volunteer to help run the Asian festival. She needs people to help set up booths and take
down things after the event is over. And help getting things organized. She also needs
help with Basketball games etc. Marilyn needs to send out more notices with contact
information to recruit people to help with events.
Val said they are reviewing applications to replace her at Admin.
Carrie said that the airport mentorship program is complete.
Adjourned: 9:30 am
