i Public Works Diversity Committee (PWDC) March 25, 2004 Meeting Minutes Held at Wastewater Treatment Plant Convener: Karen Loy Note Taker: Dawna Nickolauson Present: Lori Davis, Karen Loy, Brian Nobles, Tom Mendel, Josh Colley, Dawna Nickolauson, Jack Long, Val Dixon, Carrie Martin and Rob Hallett. Meeting convened at 8:30 am Agenda Review and Additions No changes were made to the agenda. I Review Meeting Minutes I I~ The corrected minutes from January are not back. There are a few corrections that need to be made to last month minutes. Mainly the spelling of peoples names. A question was asked about a diversity brochure to be translated into Spanish. We have no brochure at present time to translate. Lane County has an example of a brochure translated into Spanish. A correction in the title of a book that Lori is reviewing; "1001 Way's to Reward People." Lori passed out a copy of the web site for the "Diversity & Human Rights Consortium. Subcommittee Reports ~ Outreach Committee • Tom Mendes has nothing new to report about Fiesta Latina. • Josh Colley found out that there is room for the Diversity committee to set up a booth to show video at Public Works Day. The location of the Booth depends on the length of the video. • Finding a video for Public Works Day is continuing. A suggestion was made to contact PBS and to check with Louranah Janeski. • The Tattoos are here and have been sent to Dawna Nickolauson. The color Books will be here in approx. 2 weeks. I will bring both of them to the next meeting. Training Committee The Training Sub Committee has't met since the last diversity meeting. They will be meeting next week. There is some concern with the title of the training that Roland is working On "Diversity without guilt, shame, and blame". The name may have to be changed.
