Comparison of actual accomplishments with milestones listed in Technical
Assessment Question 4 of the Proposal
Urban Forestry
_ _
Wetlands and open In our proposal, we stated that we would use the NAWCA funds to purchase fee title
lNa#erways of 382.9 acres of land in the Lee, Marvin, and Sadri (Coyote Creek) parcels. Those
382.9 acres were classified as 244 acres ofpalustrine emergent wetland, 33 acres of
__palustrine forested wetland, and 105.9 acres of uplands. The two wetlands' types are
considered "decreasing" types.
To date, we have acquired the Lee (34.44 acres) parcel, Marvin parcel (37.28 acres)
and the Decker conservation easements (133 acres), for a total of 204.72 acres. The
Lee,---Marvin, and=Dec-ker acres consist of=1-31.72-acres=of
palustrin~-eme~ent
wetlands, 73 acres of
palustrine forested wetlands, and 0 acres of upland.
For the remaining 178.18 acres yet to be acquired using NAWCA funds, we
anticipate acquiring a combination of palustrine emergent wetlands, palustrine
forested wetlands, and upland. It is possible we will actually acquire substantially
more acres of palustrine emergent and palustrine forested wetland acres than we
..proposed, but fewer acres of upland.
1 Using NAWCA funds to help purchase the Decker conservation easement was, approved by USFWS
staff (Anna-Marie York) in written correspondence to me on April 25, 2003 and again on August 27,
2003.
Page 1
