The land encompassing East Alton Baker lark was in County ownership <br /> i ~ up until 1573; at which time it was transferred to the City of Eugene. Jnd'er ~e transfer <br /> agreement, the County retains responsibility for the formei,Day Island Landfill? As such; the <br /> ~ County and .the City work cooperatively on projects involving this portion of the park.. <br /> . . <br /> The County agrees with"the City of Eugene's efforts to enhance habitat. along the riparian " <br /> corridor ar~d the. upland meadow of the foiiner landfill `site. Lane County s"tallwBl provide <br /> j .support for't1~s project by participating in the development of a plan for the future placement of <br /> fill on. the former landfill site. It is estimated that between ~ 10 and 20 hours of Lane County Staff <br /> time' will 'be dedicated ~to this task.
