Cooperative Agreement (Amendment No. 1, September 28, 2001, enclosure 1) between the <br /> U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Corps), Portland District and the City of Eugene, Oregon,. (the <br /> .City) for acquisition of native plants and seeds and construction of recreation facilities at the <br /> Amazon Creek Wetlands Restoration, Section 1135 Project <br /> 2. Project Cooperation Agreement (Amendment No. 1, September 21, 2001, enclosure 2}between <br /> the Department of the Army and the City of Eugene, Oregon, for Modification of Amazon Creek <br /> ~ ~ Flood Control Channel, Amazon Creek Wetlands Restoration <br /> <br /> i <br /> Requesting A ency: U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Portland District <br /> Servicing A~encv: City of Eugene, Oregon <br /> Description of Services: Under this task order the City of Eugene will construct the planned <br /> recreation facilities at the project as described in the Project Cooperation Agreement (PCA, reference <br /> • 2 above). The recreation facilities will support public access and provide environmental education • <br /> and interpretive opportunities in keeping with the primary wetland restoration purpose of the project <br /> area. In 2001, the Corps completed plans and specifications tP&S) for the planned recreation <br /> facilities. The P&S were provided to the City and to Oregon Department of Transportation for <br /> inclusion in a larger contract that the city is administering for the Eugene to Fern Ridge multiple <br /> . purpose trail. The contract was previously awarded by Oregon Department of Transportation in <br /> 2001. Construction will be initiated in summer of 2002 and will continue through 2003. The city <br /> will manage the construction contract and will complete consiruciion of all facilities with Section <br /> 1135 funding by the end of Federal Fiscal Year (FYJ 2003. <br /> This Task Order covers work to be completed in Federal Fiscal Year (FY) 2002. A separate task <br /> order will be prepared to cover work completed in FY 2003. <br /> Tasks and Activities: <br /> The Corps of En 'eery Will: <br /> 1. In accordance with the cost-sharing provisions detailed in the Project Cooperation Agreement <br /> (PCA), reimburse the City for the Federal share of the recreation facilities constructed by the city. <br /> The Federal share is described below under "Reimbursement of Services." <br /> 2. Provide any additional engineering during construction that may be required for the facilities <br /> previously designed by Corps staff. <br /> 3. .Perform interim inspections (roughly twice monthly) during active construction periods. The <br /> purpose of the inspections is to provide quality assurance on those facilities for which the Corps <br /> will share costs. <br /> 1.. <br /> <br />
