TASK ORDER Ol-1 <br /> ACQUISITION OF NATIVE PLANTS AND SEEDS FOR AMAZON CREEK WETLANDS <br /> RESTORATION PROJECT <br /> Reference: Cooperative Agreement dated July 17, 2000, between the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, <br /> Portland District and the City of Eugene, Oregon, for acquisition of native plants and seeds for the . <br /> Amazon Creek Wetlands Restoration, Section 1135 Project. <br /> Requesting Agency: U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Portland District <br /> Servicing Agency: City of Eugene, Oregon <br /> Description of Services: Under this task order the City of Eugene will provide the staff, facilities, supplies <br /> ~ and equipment needed to collect, treat, grow-out, store, transport, clean, salvage and propagate native <br /> wetland and upland seeds and plant materials needed for the Amazon Creek Wetlands Restoration <br /> Project. Under this Task Order, the city may also provide labor and equipment crews for weeding and <br /> other control ofnon-native weedy species. <br /> <br /> it <br /> The Corps of Engineers Will: <br /> 1. Continue to provide management and funds for completion of the Project's Phase II, which involves a <br /> series of management prescriptions designed to restore small-scale surface hydrology, remove non-native <br /> species, and to plant and treat native plants with the goal of restoring a native Willamette Valley wet <br /> prairie wetland ecosystem. Phase II prescriptions will include filling and restoring small drainage <br /> channels, fill removal, removal of reed canary grass and other invasive species, mowing, burning, <br /> plowing and scraping. The Phase II work will be conducted under a Government Agreement with the <br /> Bureau of Land Management (BLM), Eugene District. Corps staff will coordinate and schedule planting <br /> and seeding activities with City of Eugene and BLM staff. <br /> 2. In coordination with the City of Eugene, write and fund a separate contract for nursery services for <br /> propagating and planting native plant materials not provided by the City of Eugene as described below. <br /> 3. Provide, via contract rental, a tractor, drill and other necessary implements to seed and plant native <br /> materials. <br /> The City of Eugene Wi11: <br /> 1. Provide staff to assisting in planning and coordination of efforts to develop native wet prairie wetland <br /> vegetation communities in the project: <br /> 3 mos. @ 4,000 per mo. $12,000 <br /> An option for an additional 3 months of staff support may be considered at a later date <br /> 2. Provide and clean native seeds required for reseeding disturbed and restored lands in the 1135. Project <br /> Area in accordance with the approved project planting plan.
