<br /> • FEDERAL PRIORITIES - 2000 <br /> Proposed WEW Environmental Education Center Design and Planning Team <br /> Planning Team Leader <br /> This team leader position will need to coordinate all the work with the West Eugene Partnership, <br /> act as liaison, and assure the ongoing work meets the complex needs of the community. This <br /> could include public scoping meetings; school boazd and bond issue meetings; and coordination <br /> meetings with WEW partnership members and appropriate key staff, and local and national <br /> politicians. <br /> Architect <br /> The azchitect would design the facilities asneeded -and, contract other disciplines such as <br /> landscape architects and contractors, to ensure the facility fits the site. The azchitect will review <br /> traffic patterns, reseazch federal restrictions associated with site, as well as coordinate with local <br /> planning and public works to determine infrastructure capacity, and to assure compliance with all <br /> building, zoning, and other associated regulations and codes. <br /> Interpretive/Environmental Education Specialist <br /> This position will identify historical, botanical, and wildlife sites and their potential for <br /> interpretation for the general public; design trail layout; and conduct historical research. This <br /> specialist will look at historical populations-who were the people, how would they have used <br /> this site? The needs for other outdoor facilities will be considered, such as the following: kiosks, <br /> signs, picnic azeas, trail heads and bike lock, and outdoor classroom structures. This position <br /> also will clearly identify educational needs within the community, as well as describe the <br /> demographics of potential facility users. <br /> Wildlife Biologist/Botanist <br /> Coordinate all of the work with WEW Partnership botanists and is responsible for a portion of <br /> biology reseazch for sites to have interpretation for the public. <br /> Writer <br /> Prepaze proposals and work on grants and presentation materials. <br /> Page 72 of 97 <br /> <br />
