Through effective implementation of encroachment policy and procedures, <br />enforce twenty cases of illegal dumping on POS-managed lands per year between <br />2009-2012. <br />Action 4.4: Continue emphasizing employee/public safety and security in the design and <br />operations of City parks, natural areas, and facilities. <br />Measures: <br />1. By June 2008, develop and implement on-going, quarterly POS-EPD-Service <br />Provider quarterly meetings. <br />2. By June 2008, begin incorporating findings of quarterly meetings into on-going <br />management decisions and park design. <br />3. Continue emphasizing employee/public safety as a priority in park design and <br />provide additional outreach to EPD and Fire during the park public design <br />process when appropriate. <br />4. By June 2008, offer at least two additional trainings related to specific safety <br />issues encountered by employees working in the parks such as: effective <br />communication with park patrons; recognizing hazardous materials; managing <br />biohazardous wastes; use of the protocols for reporting issues in the parks; and, <br />coordinating with EPD. <br />5. By January 2009, develop a series of at least three trainings, to be held annually, <br />related to specific safety issues encountered by employees working in the parks. <br />Goal 5: Continue to attract and sustain a positive and inspired workforce. <br />Action 5.1: Articulate a clear vision and clear goals for the Division and acknowledge <br />achievement towards the vision and goals. <br />Products: <br />1. Launch annual POS staff awards program to honor significant staff <br />accomplishments in relation to progress made toward organizational values and <br />goals. <br />Measures: <br />1.
