For the purposes of this section, legal holidays are as follows: <br />• New Year's Day on January 1 <br />• Memorial Day on the last Monday in May <br />• Independence Day on July 4 <br />• Labor Day on the first Monday in September <br />• Thanksgiving Day on the fourth Thursday in November <br />• Christmas Day on December 25 <br />When a holiday falls on Sunday, the following Monday shall be recognized as a legal <br />holiday. When a holiday falls on Saturday, the preceding Friday shall be recognized as <br />a legal holiday. <br />00225.02 General Requirements <br />(Add) When extended traffic queues develop during flagging operations, protect traffic by <br />providing advance flagger(s) and signing according to the "Extended Traffic Queues <br />Detail" shown on Standard Drawing TM710. The advance flagger is required when the <br />sight distance for oncoming traffic to the end of the queue is less than 205 m (675 feet) <br />or when traffic queues extend beyond the initial work area warning signs. <br />Monitor the length of traffic queues and install an additional set of advance flagger signs <br />if traffic queues extend beyond the first set of advance flagger signs. Advance flagger <br />signs include the "BE PREPARED TO STOP" (W3-4-48) and the Flagger Symbol <br />(CW23-2-48) signs. <br />Relocate the initial advance warning sign so it is the first sign visible to incoming traffic. <br />00225.05 Contractor's Traffic Control Plan <br />(Delete) The first sentence. <br />(Add) The Traffic Control Plan in the plan set has been approved by the Engineer for use by <br />the Contractor. It is the Contractor's responsibility to modify this TCP as necessary to <br />provide a complete TCP for the Contractor's Work operations. Any modifications to this <br />plan requires that the Contractor shall submit a detailed work schedule showing stage <br />construction along with the Traffic Control Plan(s) (TCP) in writing five (5) Work Days <br />before the pre-construction conference for approval. If, as determined by the Engineer, <br />the TCP does not meet these requirements the TCP will be rejected and no adjustment <br />of Contract Time will be allowed. <br />00225.11(a-4) Reflective Sheeting <br />(Replace) This subsection with the following subsection: <br />00225.11(a-4) Retroreflective Sheeting (Prismatic Lens) -Use ASTM D 4956 <br />Type VII, Type VIII, Type IX, or Type X fluorescent orange sheeting from the QPL on all <br />work zone signs unless otherwise indicated in this Section or in the TCP. <br />Special Provisions -Job #4376 Page 8 <br />
