News Released Beltline Modernization and Safety Improvement Project <br /> January 14, 2Q00 <br /> Page 2 <br /> Once the Roosevelt route is completed, probably late this spring, the travel lanes on <br /> Beltline will e shifted to the west, and no turns will be allowed at the intersection of Royal and <br /> Beltline. Bri ge and widening work and bike path construction is scheduled to be done this year, <br /> with paving, andscaping, and illumination work scheduled to be completed by September 2001. <br /> The c ent project follows atwo-year, first-phase project in which Beltline Highway was <br /> widened and ~mproved from north of Barger to just north of Royal. That work was completed in <br /> 1997. ODO'~ began the environmental assessment process for the Beltline modernization and <br /> safety impro I ement project in 1991 and completed its environmental documentation in 1995. <br /> Road construction updates will be provided via the City of Eugene's traffic relief hotline, <br /> 984-8484, a on the Internet at www.ci.eugene.or.us/pw/traffic. <br /> ~'I # # <br /> i <br /> <br /> I <br /> <br />
