News Release ROTARY CLUB BEAUTIFIES ROSE GARDEN <br /> i <br /> January 30, 2001 <br /> Page 2 <br /> The Delta Rotary members, along with their families and friends, will dedicat their <br /> Saturdays throughout the spring, summer, and fall months to completing the pergol ~ <br /> installation and starting work on additional features for the garden. A fountain, whi h will be <br /> placed next year, will offer a view of the historic cherry tree and the rose garden. T e group <br /> also plans to construct a new gazebo that can be used for weddings and reception , a <br /> pathway between the pergola and the gazebo, and a trellis extension. The Delta R tary Club <br /> would also like to create an information kiosk and brochure for the rose garden. <br /> "The projects that the Rotarians have completed so far, and the projects sla ed for this <br /> year's vision, are accomplishments the citizens of Eugene can be proud of and enj y for years <br /> to come," said Marcia Peeters, coordinator of the City of Eugene Volunteer in Park program. <br /> "This Adopt-A-Park project has been an incredible partnership with a vision to the f ture." <br /> "The vision of Eugene Delta Rotarians is to provide service above self in th it <br /> generosity, skills and hard work to improve the already beautiful Owen Municipal R se Garden <br /> i <br /> into amust-see park," said Paul Peschiera, member of Eugene Delta Rotarians. <br /> The event on Saturday is open to the public with opportunities to donate to he <br /> development of the rose garden. Money collected will go directly to the rose garde <br /> beautification project.
