Message Page 2 of 2
Eugene Airport.
Also included was $2 million for the construction of an air traffic control tower at North Bend
Airport. North Bend is the only full service commercial airport in the state of Oregon that lacks a
control tower. The airport has experienced a dramatic increase in passenger enplanements within the
last few years. An air traffic control tower will increase air safety which will help attract more frequent
air service and additional air carriers to the airport in the future. To date, DeFazio has secured $1
million for construction of the control tower at North Bend Airport.
The legislation is expected to be considered by the full House when the body returns from recess in
September.
-30-
8/2/2004
