Excavated materials shall not be allowed for use <br /> as trench backfill except in unimproved portions of the public way. <br /> Controlle density fill (CDF), also known as flowable backfill, is a cementious <br /> material fixed, transported, and delivered using normal ready mixed concrete <br /> operation .CDF is a mixture of cement, aggregates, water, and admixtures such <br /> as fly as proportioned to provide anon-segregating, self consolidating, free- <br /> flowing a d excavatable material. CDF is a hardened, dense, non-settling fill that <br /> requires o compaction effort. <br /> Traffic m y temporarily be placed directly upon CDF prior to paving as soon as it <br /> has suffi iently hardened so that the surface will withstand traffic or construction <br /> equipme t loading without deformation. If CDF is used as a temporary surface <br /> ~ j restoratio material, the surface shall be maintained and repaired due to damage <br /> by traffic. <br /> "I t~. All portla d cement concrete used in the replacement of streets, alleys or sidewalks <br /> shall obt in a minimum breaking strength of 3,300 psi in 28 days and conform to <br /> sections 12 through 215 of the Standard Specifications. <br /> All ornam ntal surfacing shall be replaced "in-kind" to that surfacing removed. <br /> Where s tions of sidewalk are requested to be removed by the permittee, they <br /> shall be r moved to the nearest existing score or joint in each direction. <br /> Where s tions of curb or curb and gutter are removed by the permittee, amini- <br /> ~ mum oft n (10) linear feet of curb and gutter shall be removed and replaced. An <br /> alternativ to this requirement shall be removing and replacing three (3) linear feet <br /> ~ of curb a d gutter with the new curb and gutter tied into the existing curb by <br /> inserting "X #4 rebar dowels into drilled one-half inch diameter by three (3) inch <br /> deep hol sin the adjoining existing curbs and gutters, one dowel in the curb and <br /> two dowe s in the gutter at each end of the replaced section. <br /> <br /> Utility & R/W Permit P licy 17 06/01/97 <br /> i <br /> <br />
