However, when emergency repairs of an existing facility are <br /> necessary, w rk may commence prior to the application for a permit. if this emergency <br /> occurs during the normal working hours of the Maintenance Division, immediate verbal <br /> notice to the titity Inspector, Maintenance Planning Manager or Maintenance Support <br /> Manager is re uired. <br /> In the case w ere emergency repairs are necessary outside the normal business hours of <br /> the Maintena ce Division, the Eugene Police Department (682-5111) should be notified <br /> if the work is ithin a street or alley and will necessitate a lane closure. If a representative <br /> of the Public orks Department is needed, upon request of the permittee, the Eugene <br /> Police Depa ment will notify the "on-call" supervisor of the Maintenance Division. For <br /> emergency r pairs which are likely to impact street trees, the Public Works Department <br /> must be notifi d and the Urban Forester consulted to determine impacts to public trees. <br /> Application fo an emergency permit shall be submitted no later than the next working day <br /> following the mergency repairs.
