Noble, Airport Manager
Subject: Amendment to Airport Rules
In 2001, the egon State Legislature passed ORS 835.112 ,permitting self-serve fueling at Oregon
airports. In ay of 2003, the Rules Governing the Use of Mahlon Sweet Airport were amended to
include new egulations for self-service fueling facilities. Since adoption of this provision, the state Fire
Code has be amended to allow fuel tanks to exceed the currently established maximum capacity of
12,000 gallo s upon approval of the Fire Marshal. Eugene Airport would like to allow fuel tanks with a
maximum ca acity of 15,000 gallons in order to provide the same competitive advantage that is available
to operators t other airports. In addition, the rules contained language specific to ASTM Standards for
hangar cons coon which needed to be updated. Attached is the Notice of Intended Rulemaking and the
Administrati a Order that address these changes. These changes will be posted at the airport and at City
Hall for fifte n (15) days, in accordance with policy and procedures for Administrative Orders. Any
written co ents or requests for additional information should be directed to my attention at 28855
Lockheed ve, Eugene, OR 97402 by April 16, 2004.
If you have y questions regarding the Administrative Order please feel free to contact me at
682-5430.
