Regional wastewater user <br /> fe s are proposed o increase by 24%, to fund on-going operations and maintenance along with needed <br /> <br /> ' ° i provements to egilonal wastewater facilities. Local wastewater user fees are proposed to increase by <br /> 1 % to continue f ncjing of operations, maintenance and rehabilitation of the Eugene wastewater <br /> c llection system. This is the first increase in local wastewater rates since 1993. The combined effect of <br /> t proposed avast water fee increases for a typical residential customer amounts to an increase of $2.75 <br /> p r month, from cujrrent total of $13.84 to a proposed total of $16.59 per month. Of this typical <br /> i rease, $2.18 is elated to the regional portion while $0.57 is from the local portion of the fee. Other <br /> u er categories wi 1 sjee similar effects in terms of the percentage increase, with dollar amounts varying <br /> d pending on vol m~ and strength of wastewater discharge. <br /> T e stormwater dministrative Order reflects a proposed increase of 2.8% beginning on July 1, 2004, to <br /> c ntinue funding f several services that were slated for reduction in the proposed FY05 budget. The <br /> i crease is intend d tp provide the amount of revenue necessary to continue funding programs as <br /> r ommended by he Budget Committee on May 17, 2004. This is the first increase in stormwater rates <br /> s' ce 1994. Cost m rs in the small residential category will see a $0.15 increase in their monthly fee, to <br /> a otal of $5.03. h medium residential customer category fee will increase by $0.21 per month, to a <br /> t tal of $7.29.
