This is what I remember as next steps:
• You had wanted to talk with Randy and Glen before making any decision.
• I had concerns about conflicting financial information that I felt we should resolve.
• Kitty was going to research any adjustments made to baselines for surplus vehicles.
• Jeff was going to provide additional information related to the retained surplus vehicles.
Then the timeframe and resolution process gets fuzzy. Somehow we were going to evaluate what we
came up with. I understand now that Fleet is very anxious to resolve this quickly and hope to go to
Execs ASAP (this week or next).
Kitty does not expect to be able to research her part until at least next week sometime. I think we
should wait until we have the GF forecast (presented to Execs Nov 7m - it is probably not available
much sooner) and know the magnitude of any deficit before we consider any resolution to fleet rates
outside of the decision package process. The timeframe for knowing the forecast and Kitty's ability to

j finish her research match up. We should be able to get information together, meet with you/others,
and then have information to Execs for a decision on the 14tH .

I
To include something different than the normal increase to fleet rates in the forecast that goes to BC
on the 18tH we need to know what that amount is by the 14tH and amend the forecast presented on the
7tH. Currently the standard rate increase is included in the forecast. This would mean passing the
amended GF forecast out on the meeting of the 18tH rather than mailing it beforehand. After the 18tH, I
believe an chan es becomes ecific adds and subtracts.
Y g p
am personally reluctant for us to consider a significant change in fleet rates outside of the normal
decision process. (Especially after Fleet's 20% increase last year.) I don't doubt that the increase is
warranted, only that it seems inappropriate to consider a consecutive, significant increase to Fleet with
out evaluating it against all the other needs Execs identify. However, there may be reasons......
Does an Exec meeting on the 14tH work? Would you please provide additional direction? Thank you.
Cindi
2
