EWEB staff have recently <br /> expressed concern with a potential conflict between EWEB's plans for establishing well heads for <br /> a redundant water source, which will require protection from groundwater pollution from sources <br /> such as dry wells, and the City's plans to implement new water quality development standards that <br /> promote management of stormwater through infiltration back into the groundwater. EWEB's <br /> expressed concern was that property owners would be opposed to well fields being located in <br /> their area because of a potential loss of ability to obtain reduced stormwater fees, since infiltration <br /> systems would be prohibited in well head areas. Wastewater staff have had some discussion with EWEB about use of reclaimed wastewater <br /> for irrigation of some of the City parks areas, and EWEB has expressed an interest in developing <br /> a pilot project.
